soccerstud comments on NEW PICS FROM LAST TRIP

well there were a lot of peope around all the time i just happen to shoot when there was no one around. the white faces was just for the day i think because right after the aerobics things finished they all wiped it off. it's at the park on 36th? around there i'm not sure. they had bike races they had the black and white festival there as well. lots of people at that park all the time.

soccerstud comments on NEW PICS FROM LAST TRIP

actually no it was really busy i just don't know why no one ever shows up in my pics there are some with people though. i had a great time though. there is some pics i took in the church but they are not adequate for the website. i had a blast with my friends. the pics with the soldiers in them it was a sunday and they were doing aerobics at the ciclovia.

soccerstud comments on Leaving for COLOMBIA

YET ANOTHER UPDATE well guys i have decided to stay another week not by choice actually, i lost my cedula and they won`t let me leave the country without the contrasena at least. went to that club chacha and the view is amazing but the place was freaking hot it reaked of smoke and in one of the patios it reaked of weed. o and by the way EXPENSIVE. anyways all is well today i have an appointment to get my duplicate for the cedula. also la calera is awesome the view from there is incredible been there twice. the nightlife here is pretty cool but it`s a little different. everyone here seems to go out in little cliqs and they stick to that they don`t seem to want to make new friends which it`s odd to me because i`m costeno and someone walks by while ur drinking and u offer them a drink. back home a lot of people go out by themselves or with maybe one or two friends here it seems the more the better. i have made new friends here but mostly because of others friends introducing me. in the coast i made new friends all by myself, well i mean it is home u feel more at ease. anyways i have started to ramble that is a pretty good sign that i need to stop. i guess i will post some more later on.

soccerstud comments on Leaving for COLOMBIA

ANOTHER UPDATE well partied here during the weekend and it was great i went to la calera and it was great the view is absolutely breathtaking. people all over the place, cars parked right on the side of the road, which by the way winds like a mofo. people drinking right there. it was great but it is expensive. i`ve had a blast since i`ve been here. the ciclovia was great too i got to go jogging and i got to see all the crazy things people do at the park. i took some pictures of monday`s ciclovia cuz there were a ton of soldiers all over the place doing aerobics in their uniforms with their faces painted. i also got to go to bogota beer company in la zona rosa it was great i had a good time. i also went to unicentro and it was huge compared to the other ones around here. i went to the movies and i never realized just how far behind they were here with movies, some of the movies showing now or about to show i already have on dvd. and a lot have already been shown in the u.s and outta theaters. anyways when i get back to the u.s i`ll scan the pics and put them on here. o and like i said before if anyone is interested in getting together for a beer or something just post it on this thread since i check it often. that`s all for now. c u later.

soccerstud comments on Leaving for COLOMBIA

hey guys i am also going to be going to b/quilla anyone know what hot spots there are to hit while i'm there?

soccerstud comments on Cartagena Hotels

hotel san martin and hotel bahia are pretty cheap. they are in bocagrande but really close to the old city. i walked there.

soccerstud comments on What do Colombians think of Irish people

all i have to say is irish men are hot!!!!

soccerstud comments on gay in colombia

when r u planning on moving there? my bf and i r planning on moving there as well he is american. u should be ok if ur discreet especially if u stay towards the inside of the country. in the coast it might be a little bit worse but not much, especially in the bigger cities.

soccerstud comments on Are Colombian students more disrespectful to foreign teachers?

there's a solution i was once a student in colombia when i was younger and there is actually, a pretty simple solution to the teacher versus student thing. in every classroom there is someone who the rest of the students respect or kinda look up to, the teacher just has to befriend that student and the student will later stick up for that teacher if someone else is giving them problems. no one in the class will mess with that teacher again.

soccerstud comments on Colombia and the Spanish connection.

i'm sorry but football is for pussys and i'm gay i played rugby and my ass got kicked without padding it hurts. the reson why u wear little in rugby is so u don't give them the chance to grab u. it is way tougher than football i know cuz i've played all kinds of sports.

soccerstud comments on Gay Life in Bogota

yes it is i am not done but soon it will be complete

soccerstud comments on Hey y'all

actually i have been around this site for a while maybe nobody has noticed my posts b4 but it would be fun to have bbqs

soccerstud comments on Hey y'all

i'll be moving to cartagena soon and i plan to travel to b/quilla a lot i'll be going there with my boyfriend so if u wouldn't mind hanging with us we would love to meet with other english speaking people. and no we r not flamming queens so u wouldn't have to worry about that.

soccerstud comments on The gay community in Medellin!!

most gays in colombia r closeted for fear of persecution

soccerstud comments on Sincelejo

did u like it? where u there for the 20th of january?

soccerstud comments on The Colombian male, ugly ducklings or not?

well actually guys not to really into girls and my boyfriend happens to be irish but even when i go to colombia i have guys and girls hanging around me. some of the guys that have come up to me at a club have been married guys they slip their numbers and stuff into my hands so i don't think colombians r ugly at all i think people tend to compare eachother to other people and they tend to like more the opposite of what they r. at least i see that a lot. i mean white girls tend to like darker boys and other way around. i think beauty is just in the eye of the beholder.

soccerstud comments on Dinner for my colombian boyfriend

actually i would say pollo a la parrilla(grilled chicken), with arroz con coco(coconut rice), patacones(fried plantain), suero con yucca(yucca root with this special milk sauce made in the coast that's awesome), with ajonjoli (sesame seeds crushed and seasoned into this kinda paste also great)and maybe a plate of sancocho de gallina costeno style which is this chicken stew that u make on top of a wood fire)

soccerstud comments on what's your favourite Colombian food

definately mote de queso is my all time favorite. and for those of u who don't know morcilla is dried up blood. that's nasty.

soccerstud comments on The Colombian male, ugly ducklings or not?

hey could someone look at my pic and let me know what they think cuz i'm colombian and i don't consider myself ugly.

soccerstud comments on Gay Life in Bogota

sylvie why do u say that?

soccerstud comments on Why do some Colombians lie for nothing?

sorry to tell u this but ur daughter technically did not lie if u hid it and she had it it was cuz she found it. and about the workers u were to nice u have to let them know that there r a whole bunch of other people waiting for a job so they screw up their gone.

soccerstud comments on PBH member's photo blogs

i just posted a few more pics check em out and let me know if u like em

soccerstud comments on Need recommendations for places to stay in Eje Cafetero & Cartagena

hey dallascowboy where in dallas r u?

soccerstud comments on Colombian Spanish

i find it to be funny that most americans take their language for granted and don't take the time to learn it correctly. i am a native spanish speaker and english is my second language yet i can spell better than most my friends and i have better grammar.

soccerstud comments on Gay Life in Bogota

very soon i will open www.gaycolombian.com

soccerstud comments on What do you think about the people from Colombia that live in the U.S.?

sorry first thing if u plan to stay in the u.s have the decency to learn the language just like i expect americans that come to colombia to live to learn spanish. i am greatful for things that the u.s has provided for me but this country is given way to much credit our country might have it's problems but the u.s has way more problems and they r getting worse thanks to the fracking moron bush. the u.s has given me the opportunity to come out of the closet, yes i am gay, and that's not something that is very socially acceptable in colombia. it is slowly changing though and i plan to make a litlle bit of change when i get there myself with my partner as we r both planning on moving there soon. i would never take the u.s over colombia even though i have spent most of my years in the u.s. i think it must be a colombian thing cuz u just grow up with a sense of belonging that never goes away. u might leave colombia but colombia never leaves u.

soccerstud comments on Things my wife likes, what about yours?

fiestas there is one off of 75 and avenue k in plano as well and there is carnival across the street which is owned by fiesta as well. cerveza aguila is sold in fiesta and they have a ton of different pastries that r awesome i lived in plano and in dallas i know they r all over.

soccerstud comments on Monday joke

great joke!!! bush sucks ass. why the hell the american people ever elected him will forever be a mystery all he has done is run this country to the ground.

soccerstud comments on New Car Importation

i asked i called and they told me that u qould end up paying the full price of the car again just because of all the taxes and all that crap. i was going to import a nissan 350z that was about 40,000us and the total they gave me was like 79,000us so i just called the nissan dealer there and they told me it would cost me around 66 grand or something like that so i suggest u buy there rather than try to import.

soccerstud comments on TV dating show in COL(justed aired) with chicas and gringos

Oh my GOD i felt like punching the fracking screen it was pissing me off. that biatch couldn't translate worth shiznet and the wedding music and tips for their wedding. the ackwardness u could see on their faces. the injusice that the translator did to all parties b/c she wouldn't translate correctly or completely. seemed to me like the host knew more english than the translator. anyway thanks for listening to me vent.

soccerstud comments on Things my wife likes, what about yours?

actually in the coast most pregnant girls like "mango viche con sal" which is a mango that hasn't ripened yet with salt. and in the us most girls like pickles. and just so u know i'm talkig about women that i've known.

soccerstud comments on Thinking of a move to cartagena, concerns......

gator i'm colombian so nobody pays attention to anything i do so nobody ever bothers me. it's always been safe i would go out to bars with a friend and we'd walk around drunk really late and nobody even came up to us or anything.

soccerstud comments on Thinking of a move to cartagena, concerns......

very safe cartagena is extremely safe my boyfriend and i are planning on moving there as well and he's a u.s citizen i'm colombian. i think the best thing for u to do is try and stay pretty central not towards the outskirts. the walled city is basically a fortress nothing will ever happen to u there no matter what time a day it is or if u r alone. as for a job my suggestion would be get certified to teach there's a lot of bilingual schools there.

soccerstud comments on Air Madrid...and safety

u'll b fine cartagena is very very safe u won't have any problems the coast of the country is pretty safe.

soccerstud comments on Sincelejo Maps?

i'm from sincelejo too what neighborhood did u grow up in? how old r u now?

soccerstud comments on What parts of Colombia have the darkest skin people

it's all about genes my father is cachaco and my mom is costena she is my skin color and my dad is white but i came out looking like my mother because she had the dominant genes. in some cases the white population of colombia isn't as dominant because it has been pretty much watered down but the darker skinned people usually don't loose that. i mean my mom has such strong genes that even with an american she was 50 -50 cause the kids like me look like her and their skin tone is lighter than mine but not white they look lke they have a permanent tan.

soccerstud comments on clubs?

or maybe pereira or manizales? if any.

soccerstud comments on Codependency

it's ok to help her family out once in a while but not all the time to where all of relatives become dependant. i love the fact that people don't call b4 coming over it's just part of culture. growing up here in the us was hard for me and ackward because of the having to call b4 coming over thing but as i was growing up i started to show up at my friend's houses w/o calling and soon enough they adapted they sort of expected for me to just drop by. and they actually said they liked it because it like a warm thing to do. and actually i agree cuz it kinda makes u feel like part of their family.

soccerstud comments on Los Dichos Colombianos - Colombian Sayings

in the coast we say el q se fue pa barranquilla perdio su silla y el q se fue pa mompos la recupero.
sabra mandrake.
eso queda por la patagonia.
la carne e burro no es trasparente.
se me fue hilo.

soccerstud comments on vacation in Santa Marta or...?

i agree with GIB san andres is awesome i stayed at hotel caribe also, which has i think 3 campuses, and i went to caribe campo and i tried to learn windsurfing and it's very private the bar is on the second floor u can eat all u want and relax. caribe centro is the main hotel and it has the best club on the top floor and i think u get some free drinks and they also have a pool and shows every nite. if not then i would suggest cartagena it is an awesome city with a great nitelife. it has the castle which u can visit. and the beaches r great if any vendors come up to u just ignore them and they'll go away.

soccerstud comments on Which is better Huila or Monteria

i couldn't tell u about huila but monteria is very very hot but it's nice and it's ok in size and it's pretty close to the beach and also sincelejo my hometown which i think it's a little bit smaller or around the same size as monteria and has great nitelife and also great culture. monteria has some shopping centers and it's pretty cool.

soccerstud comments on colombian slang

hey try "vacana" or "pupis" which means cool.

soccerstud comments on Restaurants in Northern Bogota?

mario i can't believe u ate morcilla that's nasty. it's pure blood that's gross. i was born in colombia and grew up there until i was eleven but i never touched the stuff.

soccerstud comments on

why? does he speak english fluently? if no don't and if yes maybe. but you have to understand that it's SOCIAL SUICIDE and especially in a small town where kids r mean. he'll have hell.

soccerstud comments on NEED ADVICE about army time in colombia

actually if u have residency somewhere else they don't draft u i am 21 and i go back all the time and the military doesn't give me any problems u do need a cedula and another alternative is buying something called a "libreta militar" which allows u to be part of the military but u don't have to serve anytime or work for them at all. it excempts u from them. and i think it cost somewhere around 500 dollars to get so i'm guessing somewhere around 400 euros.

soccerstud comments on

Know something? even though there is a bit of differential treatment it's ur own fault if u take it. i'm dark skinned look at my pic. but i have never had any problems anywhere because i'm very demanding and if i don't get what i want i protest and that's the last sthing they want so i get what i want.
