well...follow my plans...i study in a colombian school...prepare myself very well...leanr enlgish and french and then you ahve to places to study in a collegue...either frnace or usa or canada...then u study ur career there and voila! you have a job!
Not everything in life is good...but think good! Staying in Colombia and find a job is not a good option...i mean i'm Colombian and i'm defenetely not doing that having many toher oportinites inother countries!

Actually the way you dnace salsa depends on the person,,,, i like to dance "cali pachnagero" for example in a really crazy way...just like a lot of turns and stuff...cause dancing salsa really close is not the point thats why merengue exists...merengue is a bit more calm so you can dnace it closer...but salsa? salsa was made for you to move your feet everywhere! salsa is crazy! and there are so many ways you can move ur feet but taking into account you gotta mantain the basic steps...so you don;t get lost..and your partner does step on you!

AND ITS NOT ONLY COLOMBIAN STUDENTS WHO ARE LAZY AS KAT1 SAID ITS EVEYRONE...some girl boys like to do their homwork friday night!!! why don;t you enjooy till saturdya night and then like at 9pm you do them! CALI IS NOT ACTUALLY THAT DANGEROUS! I lived in cali for a year and of course we have to accpet it is dangerous...but you know the guerilla might not walk beside you while your walking in a mall!!! that's crazy it might happen cause eveyrthing can happen but don't be sacred!
ITS DANGEROUS IF YOU WALK ALONE AT NIGHT! in a place that is not safe...BUT if you take care not to end up in weird places nothing would happen! be careful cause at night like after 9pm some thieves might wanna go out and break your car wondow to steal either your car or ask you for money so just beaware in the "semaforos" if you ahve to keep driving and pass the road having the red light just do it...for your safety...another thing...remember that Cali, is characterized for having a lot of "narcotraficantes" those guys that have a lot of money for carrying drugs...thats why in some zones of cali there are house that resemble mansions!...
but its ok! have no fear and go to Cali!

for your safety just try to follow this rules:
in cities like bogota :
try not to walk alone at night in streets... that doesn't mean everytime ur going ut at 7 pm you have to call a friend no!don;t exagerate!
NO DEN PAPAYA, talking with your celphone in the streets where you know many opf those strange people that sell things walking aroung might steal it!
if you are in the T zone or near ANDINO, some guy might come over to you and ask if youwann buy some bracelets, you might not want to...actually they are not very nice but anyway just say NO and don't demostrate you'r scared or something because you ESTAS DANDO PAPAYA! So try to just say NO THANKS (don;t forget the thanks)...if he insists then say NO again! he might go...however some of those guys might then say...then let me give you this little braceles...it ahs the colors of the colombian flag...(yellow, blue and red)...do not accpet that bracelet cause even though it seems it doesn;t cost a cent! he will alter tell you after he has put the bracelet on your wrist what can you give me for that and you obviously have to give him something coz the damn bracelet is already in your wrist! So...don;t be dumb! and jsut tell then !NO if your walking ignore them! some of them are even drugged...you know they are hippies so... sometimes they even make a show and begin liek hey look i can touch my balls with my feet! and it happened to me and a freind and we were like o good for you bye and walked away..anyway don;t worry cause those people would not do anything to you they just want money but they won't kill u or anything!

well I'm In Colombia Schoool in bogota i'm in 10th grade and all my life i have had to recover algebra...some of my friends have repeated a year...because they had to recover three whole classes...actually in my school the classes are divivded into goals...or achievements...but hey! a private school here is not easy! and i'm not lazy or anything!And I have got D's! (deficient) or A( acpetable) rarely E(excellent)...hich si my goal...so..oh and by the way, i think we are actually more advanced in the topics...cause i saw the carthesian plane from 7th grade and when i went to a cultural exchange in TN Nashville i was in a class with my host student and she was in 9th grade and they were beginig to learn about what was a carthesian plane! so...here they actually torture us! for me school is terrible except ur friends!

I'm from bogota and the "in" places to live are near centro Comercial Andino,,, or in "multicentro" which is near the centoro comercial unicentro bu near andino actually you ahve the bodytech gym,,,you have the "T" zone which is actually near the "zona rosa" there are cool restaurants there...cafes,,, and places to dance, Rosales is the most high class neighborhood its near the mountains...
and only about i think 10 block (down) away from centor c. Andino, Salitre plaza is a good neighborhood but I consider it a NOT 'in" place to live...if ur looking for something in you might not wanna live there...

i'm not sure if i got ur firts question but anyway,,, it depends on the club there are some clubs that ask for your I.D. but and if you don;t have if then too bad anyway some people here get some fake I.D. passwords so this way they can get in, and it happened once in Massai a dancin place here where the police caught many underage people dirnking and so the palce was closed for 3 months as far as i know...

Drink if ur not 18 but watch out! Here in Bogota and the other cities as well, you can drink of your underage....in parties...you see underage duys and girls drinking all they can! but sometimes the polic wakes up! and wants to go take a look in some bars and thats the point were they take you to those teenager jails and you have to call ur daddy!!! so be careful! another thing is...if drinking is not crontolled that much here! you cannot be so convinced that you can peacefully walk with a beer in your hand in front of a policeman and of course if you have a baby face! Actually it happeed to a friend of mine one day we were in a little "tiendita" and he asked for a beer...awww but he seemed so "culicagado" (ass shitted) that the woman just said like: me muestra su cedula? can i see ur I.D.? and he was like oopsss...of course he came back to our table and we had to ask another friend of mine to go for the beer sicne he looked older even though there were the same age! sooo if you wann drink and ur underage feel free...but be careful hahaha!

Great! but there are more things to know... Your essay was great, I'm from Bogota and i'm in 10th grade of the School: Santa Francisca Romana (actually a private one) and what you said was great even though the thing about the food. its not that bad...well at least in mine! The other thing is yeah we are really friendly, hahaha if you come everyone will drive you crazy asking you things and everyone would love to be ur friend! About the gringo thing...don't feel offended its just a word we use to refer to north americans (usa) as we do with the people from medellin for example who we call "paisas" (pie-sas) so don't feel offended! And reffering to FUN HERE! man that's what we're characterized for! you listen to any radio station here and you get informed about all the school or university's parties coming up!!!! friday and saturday nights here are TURNED ON!!! if you come to Bogota DON'T YOU DARE GO WITHOUT GOING TO all the "RUMBIADEROS" (slang for dancing places) that are located on the road to la calera...go to COMPOSTELA, SAMERON, MASSAI, go to LA ZONA ROSA ( the rose zone) which is full of bars and places that party till 6 am! Go to ANDRES CARNE DE RES! SAN BARICHARA! gosh so many other places you can't miss! ANYWAY IF YOU COME..HAVE FUN! and just do all that you can't do in any other place that is not COLOMBIA!

MoRe! Well first of all, this web is the best thing Peter could have done!!!! I didn't know so many people were aware of what's happening in my country! I'm a Colombian girl I live in Bogota (capital city as you might know)
here are some of the words that I being a teenager know and use the words everyday!
as you may know some lsang owrds change from city to city here in bogota for example:
CHIMBA (cheembah): here in bogota means COOL but in Cali it means Bored... used expressions: que chimba de fiesta!
A LO BIEN ( ah low be-n): means like .... really
PEYE: pei- je (the J as in jar): it means like bad...like its meaning is weird you an use is like ....what a peye party....or...que camiseta tan peye!
Hembra(feminine)/Hembro (masculine) are some quite peculiar slang word here in bogota... Hembra si used to express to YOUR FREINDS how hot a firl is or hembor how hot a guy is...but might not WANNA say directl to a girl...ERES UNA HEMBRA cause she might slap you...hembra is kind of a not appropiate word to flirt! just use it with your freinds...don;t let you TRAGA (slang word for the person you like) know you're calling her and HEMBRA! or HEMBRO!
NA DJUST ONE LAST THING! if you're coming and you're between your 16 years old up to 25 at least...please learn some lang cause you might come here and don;t undersatnd what they say! you no we colombians have milions of ways to call things and with slang words as well so you better learn or get lost you chose!
