kkemerait comments on Interview Questions and a Visa (finally!) It took two years because, unfortunately, immigration services lost out paperwork two different times during the process. Once in california (the initial filing) and once in New Hampshire. Believe me I have the worst luck when it come to things like this. In any case we had to refile our paperwork and go to the end of the line lol. It was frustrating and a long process....but look at the bright side .. I got to visit Colombia a lot more than I would have if everything had gone well. chao

kkemerait comments on Hotel Recommendation (Bogota) Domestic Flights I purchased my latest tickets as multi-stop tickets on travelocity. From North Carolina to Bogota then 4 days later to Cali (via Avianca) it was the same as a single flight from NC to Cali (the 4 day stopover in Bogota was essentially free)

kkemerait comments on Get married In San Andres Island- Colombia (no documents required) Law 915/2004 Honeymoon in San Andreas A lovely island. We took a flight from Cali to San Andres (brief stop in Cartegena 20 min). It is incredible. If I may make a suggestion - The Hotel Casablanca is incredible. If you have not made reservations yet...go there. On the other hand we had a terrible time at Hotel Sol Caribe Campo - stay away. Go to Acuario and Johnny Cay ... Have a Blast!!

kkemerait comments on The joy of being married to a latina My Wife She is the most wonderful, kind, loving, gentle, strong, fun-loving, tender, romantic, sensitive, adoring and beautiful person that I have even known. We are newlyweds, married for less than a month now, but our friendship and love is beyond words. For the cynics in the audience, yes I have been married before (for 13 years), I am 52 years old, I've seen good and bad in this world but I have never been as happy and content as I am when I am by her side holding her hand. I can only imagine the rest our lives together, but I am certain they will be filled with love, romance, wonder, tenderness and laughter.

kkemerait comments on Is it safe to travel to Colombia yet? Safe in Colombia I am no expert, but I travel to Colombia almost once a month now. At first to spend time with my fiance (Colombiana) and now to spend time with my Colombian wife (same person jaja). I have never had a problem. My spanish is terrible (at best) and I don't think there is a person in the world who would mistake me for Colombian, jaja. Never had any problems, nicest people in the world. I love Colombia (My Wife lives in Palmira, about 30 min from Cali).

kkemerait comments on Certified, Notorized Translations WITH apostille! Clarification... Yes, each state must affix the apostille on documents originating in their state. However, the Spanish translation can and should have its own apostille and certification. Those apostilles are issued in the state where the translated document is notorized. So, in my case...my birth certificate is from NY, my Divorce papers from Iowa, each of thoses needed an apostille from the correspondeing state for the ENGLISH versions (originals), however, the SPANISH versions were all notorized and certified by this company and hence, got their apostille from the state the company resides in, the state of origin was irrelevent.
