I will be moving to Bogota in May for a few years to attend Los Andes/Javeriana (im not sure which yet). I will need an apartment, but i think im just going to rent. How hard is it going to be fore me (17 years old) and alone to rent an apartment. My parents dont REALLY want to come to colombia at all, but even if they do just to sign papers, how hard will it be? ...
Im wondering how hard it is going to be to find an apartment in Chapinero, or something of the likes. My plan is to move to Bogota next year(im American), for college(Im applying to Los Andes and Javeriana). Im looking at spending about 400 or less a month and i would like a studio or 2 bedroom. My parents are trying to decide how difficult it is to actually get a legit apartment. Would i need my parents with me, i wont be 18 yet, but i can pay atleast a years rent upfront if needed. I have leaned that it is much cheeper and shorter to go to college in colombia, i have a question though and some people have told me both ways. How old do you have to be to drink in bogota, how about goin to clubs is there a required age? can you get around it? I have read that the clubs in zona roja are nice, are there any other areas?
i have a friend in bogota, he was an exchange program in the us (virginia) and we when on to become in a relationship that was crushed by his departure. i had thought about doing an exchange program before i met him (possibly spain/frnace/germany) but as soon as he left i began to look at exchange programs in bogota...only yo find that there are none. i assume (asss of you and me i know) this is because of quote unquote safty issues ...personally that i believe have been blown out of proportion. ...
