How much money should I send for a very nice doll for a 5 year old girl.

Hi everyone:

I have been talking to a Paisa girl from Medellin for a month now. She is my Primo ( Cousin )wife's very good friend. She has a 5 year old daughter who is going to have surgery next month on her eye ducts. I want to send some money down so that her mother can buy her a very nice doll that she can take to into the hospital with her from me.

How much should I send 30 - 40 american dollars ? I am doing this because I love kids and I want to make the little girl smile. I am very impressed with this paisa woman... I call her on weekends from Canada with my cousins wife on the phone here to help translate.. She always worries that I am spending too much money on phone calls to her.

She is a 27 year old woman and the father of her child died before the child was born. She works about 70-80 hours a week at her job in the office. What a work ethic... We shall see how this goes... No music bands... jajajajaja

It looks like it could be a paisa woman for me.. As my cousins wife family in Medellin has other women lined up to introduce to me... My cousin just came back from Colombia 2 months ago after a long stint there off and on.. He would have to leave the country every 3 months and go back in.

take care everyone,

Jeff

Don't send money... Buy it on line and have her pick it up.

jeeeesh..... my daughter must have about 20-30 barbies....

if i knew we were paying $20-$30 apiece, she wouldn't have a one.

i can't believe this. we--mom,daughter,family--have been buying these for years. maybe i'm an old frump, but if i was aware of this, i'd just give our daughter the money and have her save it.

at those prices, we're over $600.00 in these silly dolls.

widower...think about that. i've raised eight kids, and i didn't know we were paying this kinda money for these dolls. this is foolishness. sorry.

that's what i get for trusting mom and the kids...

Fresita Strawberry shortcake is AKA "Fresita" here in Colombia and very popular. Tinto make a good point about Barbie not being very cuddly. Stacked, yes, but not very soft.

barbie dolls I'm a huge fan of those and trust me, the cheapest one here in colombia is about 35.000 pesos, but I agree with tinto, if she wants a doll to hold on to while being at the hospital, get her a different kind of doll
