Colombians in Australia

Hi,

I am wondering if there is any Colombians residing in Australia, preferably Melbourne. I have some Colombian friends who would like to go there to study and they don't speak much of English, so it would be good if they have someone to help them rather than going there alone without knowing anything......

Colombians in Australia.... Yep, it's true there are loads! I met my Colombian boyfriend while I was living in Sydney. He was studying at Wollongong University and most of his friends at uni were also from Colombia. I'm not in Oz at the moment myself, neither is Diego but we have plenty of contacts who are still over there. Feel free to get in touch and I can give you a few e mail addresses.
PS: There's also a Colombian woman who lives in Bondi and cooks Colombian food to order. You let her know what you want, she cooks it and you go and pick it up...nice!

How about Colombians in New Zealand? I know only of one, a mate I used to work with in Auckland. Anyone know if there are many Colombians there?

When I was in Melbourne, I met heaps of Colombians but I have lost touch with some of them and the other half have returned to Colombia or gone to other countries.

I like the idea of someone in Sydney who can prepare Colombian food. I can't seem to find such place or service in Melbourne. The only place I could find selling South American products is in Fitzroy and those stuff cost me a fortune.

If there are more information, please do share while I'll get my friends to hook up with some of you here. Thanks a lot!!!!

Colombian food in Sydney I will ask my boyfriend for the details of the woman in Sydney who makes the food. You never know, she might know someone in Melbourne who does the same. There's also a few Colombian restaurants in Sydney. We used to go to one of them quite regularly and it was great. They also sell Colombian packaged and drinks like Colombiana to take away. Check back in a couple of days and I'll post the info.

UOW.... My ex, 'sort of'now, not sure what's happening boyfriend is called Diego Gonzalez. He was doing a Masters in Geology and finished in 2002 I think, or maybe 2003. I met loads of UOW Colombian students through him and we're still In touch. What's your name andyour boyfriend's name? Should be meeting Diego in Paris on Saturday so will ask if he knows you. Cheers!

Living in Melbourne I am Colombian and have been living in Melbourne for a while now. Send me a private message and I will give you my details. I could give your friends a little push in the right direction. I know what is like to come to a foreign country on the ther side of the world and feeling tiny...I've been there.
