CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER, HARRISON FORD MOVIE

Why is this not a popular movie in colombia?

What kind of question is this? Are you serious? It's exactly the kind of movie that gives rise to Colombia's reputation in the eyes of most Amercians as a violent, drug-infested country.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

If you watch it for its theatrical qualities as an action movie though, it's quite good.

Good enough even that the scene of the SUVs' ambush has been made into a mandatory course for FBI trainees at Quantico and has been recreated. The other political aspects of the movie are BULL though...

the book was better! Remember they made the movie during the right after the height of the whole escobar thing, so it's dated. Mark sounds like a troll, if not then i apologize, but why mention a movie over 10 yrs ago if it's popular. Heck that's like saying is "Wallstreet" popular in NYC? At least mention something halfway recent, like maria full of grace or something else.

This has got to be one of the dumbest questions I've ever seen on this board. It's sad that any foreigner would even form an opinion about Colombia based on this garbage.

HaJaHa Good action movie, but that's it. Anyone that could form an opinion about Colombia because they saw this adventure piece "troubles me", as Don Imus would say. I like Clancy and enjoyed reading the book, but Jesu Cristo, what's the point of this thread anyway. As I have said before, "Maria Llena Eres De Gracia" is an excellent film, albeit drug-related. Catalina Sandino, in her first film, already has won awards all over the world for her performance. I hope mis amigos colombianos aqui en PBH, y mis amigos en Colombia take pride in this most talented woman.

Maria Llena Eres De Gracia is one of the best films..... In fact, I wish I can find one with subtitles so I can let my Gringo friends see it (and understand it). But, I have to agree with ColX and utopiacowboy, the question as to why it's not popular in Colombia???? That actually makes me laugh. This guy cannot be serious. That would be like asking a Chicagoan after seeing a movie about how Al Capone controlled the city and killed everybody who got in his way, why the movie isn't popular in Chicago. Clear and Present Danger was not representative of Colombia, anymore than watching a movie on Al Capone was representative of Chicago in his day.

Maria Full Of Grace The movie is called "Maria Full of Grace" in English and it's out on VHS and DVD so you shouldn't have trouble finding it.

Great movie...

Maria Full of Grace We, my Colombian wife and I, just watched this
movie. We both enjoyed it very much.
She, however, was not all that impressed with
Clear and Present Danger although I enjoyed it.
