Breaking Miami News; Colombian Songwriter Estafano's Shooter Found

jury on Wednesday acquitted Francisco Oliveira Jr. on charges that he shot and nearly killed Latin producer Estefano last year.

Oliveira, 31, a handyman who worked at Estefano's Biscayne Boulevard music studio, was accused of shooting Fabio ''Estefano'' Salgado on May 25, 2007, inside the songwriter's Miami waterfront mansion.

Oliveira, testifying in his defense Tuesday, claimed he was home watching a martial arts video when Estefano was shot.

I doubt that Simon! Our Court of Law is better then that~ More likely the reasons may be found in this statement " Oliveria's defense attorney, Frank Rubio, during his closing arguments, said prosecutors were relying only on the testimony of the wounded songwriter.

''There are no witnesses,'' Rubio said. ``There is no gun. There is no prints. There is no DNA. There is no confession. Nothing.''

Until this Shooting, I never heard of this guy Estefano as I'm not a big music fan but I have this question, what was Estefano doing hanging out with these Low Life Cuban Santeria Characters? Seems like he wasn't picking his company too selectively...

And every day under our justice system, people are acquitted due to lack of Evidence

On Sept 17, 2008: Senator John McCain said, as he had many times before, that he believed the fundamentals of the economy were "strong."Hours later he backpedaled, explaining that he had meant that American workers were Strong.
