Atrapados en Bagdad...

I am not surprised this has not received much attention from the U.S. or colombian governments after it was published in Semana.

IMHO It's not very wise to shortchange a former Colombian soldier/current mercenary 6k a month.

This story has been discussed in length on CBlog.

Talk About a Screwjob,,,,, And a Dirty trick! $6000 less monthly then the Deal called for, like the one Col Soldier said, "Who would risk their Life in Iraq for a paltry $1000 monthly when he was earning more then that in his secure job? Looks like their Recruiter, ID Systems, is pocketing some extra cash. Being a Mercenary Soldier of Fortune is a Dirty Business and alwys has been, What I can't understand is why Urribe hasn't conferred with Bush/Cheney who could readily rectify this situation, What a Lousy Deal,,,

On Sept 17, 2008: Senator John McCain said, as he had many times before, that he believed the fundamentals of the economy were "strong."Hours later he backpedaled, explaining that he had meant that American workers were Strong.

How can we Help? I know there nothing we can do about the contract or anything else but maybe we can send them products for personal use, shampoo, soap etc. Maybe a first aid kits. I'm here in Iraq and I see civilians going to the hospital getting medical assistance regarles of where there are from, I mean the question doesn'e even come up so I don't know where there are going for medical help. If they go to the local hospital they'll be seen. Is there a way to get in contact with them?
