La Mejor Novela - Rebelde

It reminds me of life in Colombia. The actors are all white Latinos. The girls are all in Catholic school skirts and look hot. Its a good show if anybody wants to check it out and learn how Colombians act. I don't know where its filmed but gives a good idea about life in Colombia even if its not a Colombian novela. All those white Latinos act the same anyway.

Orele! Oye, its Mexican, you can tell by the way they speak. Its mainly for teenagers, though. They also sing "New Kids On the Block" type songs and have concerts all over LA.

Morphus, morphus, morphus....

It figures that you're enjoying a show whose primary target audience is 11-15 year old girls.

Talk about Rebelde in Colombia to a woman older than your usual suspects and they will just laugh. There are plenty of others that the more mature woman likes, such as Juegos Prohibidos.

The main stars of the novela are a group called RBD that are incredibly popular at this time...just typical pop stuff, but they've probably had 5 Number One songs in the last year.

The lead singer and lead character is Mia, and skinny girl with the colored eyes. Not sure if they are real or not. You probably like the redhead...I do think it's amusing that they have a really chubby (well, some would say fat) girl as part of the cast. But just one, so she kind of sticks out. I'm not sure what the point of that is...maybe to make the girls around Latin America who aren't perfect identify with the show more.

Caufield2, you seem to a fan. You know more about the show than me. I only watched a couple of episodes. I don't like the red head. The blonde looks the best. The rest of the girls would look goofy without the make up and cute outfits. I think the show targets older than 15 year olds. The characters look in their twenties in real life.

I guess I live in another era, a print-based era... When I saw the headline I wondered how Albert Camus' novel, El Rebelde, was involved with PBH

At my school, the majority of middle school girls were dressed up with the skirts and ties of Rebelde for Halloween.

While I'm sure most of the performers are in their late teens or early 20's, they can pass for high schoolers, I guess, just as well as the twenty0somethings on Beverly Hills 90210. In fact, Gabrielle Carteris was in her 30's when that show ended.

You can't get away from Rebelde here in COL because it's very popular. They have hordes of young girls going to the malls for their promotional tours....heck, people just show up to watch the thing on huge, big-screen tvs as a group.
